Sometimes as I look through my closet I realize that I gravitate towards certain colors and patterns- without even knowing it. There’s one pattern in particular that I seem to be obsessed with and the theme of a new blog series- polkadots! From shirts to bags, I seem to have quite a bit of this pattern in my closet.
Here’s the first polka-dotted item I’d like to focus on this week! It’s one of my favorite color combinations- and perfect for spring/summer!
I have always been a huge lover of rust-colored anything. And in the summer, I absolutely love that I can wear new bottoms- because shorts, even on tall people, actually fit! No more too-short pants for me. Let’s show off these mile-high legs! I also love a rust color with navy blue- and even though it may seem like a more fall color palette, I think it’s still a great combo for any season.
I love the sheer fabric on this top, so if you wanted a pop of color underneath just throw on a colorful tank-top and some neutral shorts. I’m also not usually a stud detail kind of girl, but this subtle studding around the collar seems to work with the top nicely. The tie in the front is flattering and also casual, and the back (not really pictured- sorry!) is just a solid navy blue. Throw in a long, gold necklace and a cream colored cardigan just in case you get chilly and you’re ready to head out the door!
