PIN IT, WEAR IT | #2

This next outfit inspired by Pinterest is one of my favorites. I’ve seen the black/camel color combination a lot lately and I decided to try it out for myself. Here’s what inspired my look this week:

I decided to go with a thicker belt (but I have a thinner camel belt as shown in my last Pin it, Wear it post) and I don’t own a camel-colored sweater cardigan. But I did find a yellow cardigan that was hidden in the back of my closet- I love putting forgotten clothes to new use! I really like this black dress- and it has POCKETS! Almost all dresses look short on me because of my mile-long legs, but I’ve learned to deal with it- when you got it, flaunt it!

Sometimes when I pin something on Pinterest, I desperately wish it would magically appear in my closet. And sometimes, seeing an outfit gives me inspiration to put together some clothes I already own in a way I never would have imagined. This week, I decided to dress up one of my dresses with a few simple accessories I already had lying around. Here’s the actual pin:

When I saw this dress I immediately thought of a grey dress I had in my closet. I never thought to add a camel belt (I usually paired it with a black belt) and I already had a similar tote bag which I use every day for work. Throw in a cardigan (which I actually wore- not just for shoulder coverage) and my favorite sunglasses, and voilà! Here’s my version:
